I have decided not to continue op once this bottle of sunflower oil is gone. When I first started it, I did indeed notice a minor clearing of the sinuses. However, I have been doing it at least once a day, if not two or three times, since a few posts ago (when was that?), and I'm not noticing any differences. While I do believe it has health benefits, I do not find them great enough to continue on. I rarely get sick during the winter (this year's household viral attack was just odd); usually I just get multiple, very minor colds. Right now I am still getting those minor colds, and they are the same degree of severity as normal. Now, one thought that as crossed my mind is "Would the colds be worse if I weren't oil pulling?" Another is that maybe op would be more effective if I more closely followed other ayurvedic guidelines. I really have no idea. In any case, though, I just don't feel like it's for me.
In the mean time, I did find a way to ingest raw garlic. Yay! Mince a clove, put it in a spoon, cover with evoo, put in mouth, and chug it down with some orange juice. While some say this prevents dragon breath, I find myself burping garlic right now, much like fish burps. Eeewww.
